Ride To Work Day Breakfast - 2008

Macquarie University supports the National Ride to Work day coordinated through Bicycle Victoria

With the support and sponsorship from the Vice-Chancellors Office, Sustainability Office and U@MQ Macquarie University will be hosting a Ride to Work "breakfast" for staff and students of Macquarie University who cycle to campus on National Ride to Work Day.

Macquarie University has registered as a workplace. Commit to riding to work on Ride to Work Day by registering on the national register with the Macquarie University site number which is 912843.

Prizes!! When you register you will go in the draw to win one of 16 Trek bikes courtesy of Trek Bikes Australia. There is also a holiday prize courtesy of Island Cycle Tours in Tasmania with four separate holiday vouchers up for grabs, each worth $1000 plus a $250 travel voucher. The draw is open to participants who register prior to 30 September 2008. Your registration also counts towards the TravelSmart Workplace Challenge and in helping to promote a better environment for bike riders. More details here.

Be part of Australia's biggest active workplace event. Tens of thousands of regular and first-time riders in all states and territories will join National Ride to Work Day. There are breakfast events in most city centres, over 70 regional breakfasts and thousands of workplace breakfasts around Australia. This is your opportunity to have a real impact on global warming and reap the health benefits of getting active. Importantly 34% of first-time riders who participated in last year's national pilot event were still riding five months later. Ride to Work Day really works!
